Mario Milicevic to Become Recipient of the IEEE Theodore W. Hissey Outstanding Young Professional Award
Mario Milicevic, the Vice Chair of Digital Presence on the 2019 IEEE Entrepreneurship Steering Committee, is to become the 2019 recipient of the IEEE Theodore W. Hissey Outstanding Young Professional Award at the IEEE Vision, Innovation, and Challenges Summit. The Awards presented are an expression of recognition for outstanding contributions to the advancement of the theory and practice of electrical, electronics, communications, environmental and safety technologies, computer science and engineering, engineering education, as well as, the allied branches of engineering and the related arts and sciences and technologies and their application.
Mario is a Communication Systems Engineer at MaxLinear in Irvine, California, where he is responsible for the development of algorithms and system-on-chip architectures for high-performance broadband and networking semiconductor products. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto in 2017, where his research focused on the design of error-correction decoders for low-power integrated circuits targeting multi-Gigabit/second 5G wireless systems and quantum cryptography over optical fiber.
