“Under 35 Innovators” Contest Sponsored by The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society

IEEE Industrial Electronics Society

The IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) is sponsoring an “Under 35 Innovators” contest, co-sponsored by the Technology and Engineering Management Society (TEMS). The event is looking for Young Professional innovators working on technological innovation and applied research in industrial electronics and industrial informatics areas. Anyone who has a brilliant idea and has developed or is developing a project leading to an industrial solution or application of it is eligible. Entries from any IES field of interest can be entered. Researchers, entrepreneurs and innovators from universities and research centers, start-ups, SMEs, corporations, and non-profit organizations are encouraged to participate.

A panel of judges from IES industry and academic experts will assess the candidates and their project.  The criteria for assessing the submissions are: concept, impact on market and technology, value to industry, and creativity. Therefore all submissions must include such info (or estimations of it).

Recipients will be selected from the judges, and the top 5 submissions will be invited to showcase at the premier IEEE IES IECON 2019 conference. The travel/hotel expenses to attend IECON 2019 and present their project to the IECON attendees will be reimbursed by IES[1].  At IECON a there will be four innovation prizes. The 1st prize named IES “innovation of the year” goes to the overall best submission. Special prizes will also be given in the categories: vision & creativity, impact, and technology. These will be selected by a vote of the attendees and judges each with an additional cash award. All winners will be invited to the entire IECON event and its activities.

IECON 2019 will be in Lisbon, Portugal, see https://iecon2019.org/  but this is an IES wide innovation contest.
