IEEE Entrepreneurship attended the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas to seek out the first startups to be inducted into the 2020 Stars Cohort.

CES is a gathering place for all those who thrive on the business of consumer technologies. It has served as a proving ground for innovators and breakthrough-technologies for 50 years. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, CES attracts world business leaders and pioneering thinkers.

IEEE Entrepreneurship Star judges were on-site in Eureka Park to identify competition candidate ventures with engineering-driven innovation at their core that align with the IEEE core purpose to foster technology, innovation, and excellence for the benefit of humanity.  IEEE Entrepreneurship would like to offer the utmost gratitude for the volunteer time and effort of our 2020 CES team of judges:

Safeware is an IoT startup that provides a wearable airbag safety system. Safeware was founded in Oct. 2016, and since then, has been developing a wearable safety system for various markets such as the motorcycle, equestrian, and industrial field.

Inspired by personal experiences to connect across language barriers, Waverly Labs was founded in 2014 at the convergence of wearable technology and speech translation. In 2016, Waverly Labs debuted Pilot, smart earbuds with live translation, selling over 35k units and $8MM in gross sales. Waverly Labs is now ready to introduce the Ambassador.

Longan Vision is a company that focuses on developing smart goggles to improve work experience and efficiency. Longan Vision offers a more intelligent public service by providing professionally engineered products to face future challenges. Not only are they making one product, but they are also building a network to link everyone together.
