ASK THE CHAIR WITH KEN STAUFFER
No doubt, wherever you live in this world, you are being impacted by the coronavirus pandemic.
A lot of us are “sheltering in place” in our homes, wondering how long it will last.
To paraphrase Thomas Paine, “These are the times that try our souls!” To all of you who know someone who has COVID-19 or died from it, my condolences to you and your families.
IEEE Entrepreneurship, like all other organizations, has been reevaluating and rethinking all 2020 activities due to the cancelations of most events through June at the earliest.
Plans are underway to create some virtual events using platforms like Zoom, WebEx, or other tools during this period.
If the pandemic subsides, during the latter part of 2020, there will be a lot of pent-up demand for IEEE conferences and events.
At that point, IEEE Entrepreneurship will have to decide which events to commit to or attend.
The scheduling of an IEEE Entrepreneurship Steering Committee call is in the process for the first week of April to discuss the matter further.
I wish I could say more to make everyone feel better.
I can only express that our current goal is safety.
Please remember to wash hands often, maintain social distancing, and practice patience.
