Equalize is a virtual mentor program and pitch competition designed to take national action around the disparity of women academic inventors forming university startups.

Equalize is focused on academic women/technology in:

  • MedTech
  • Therapeutics
  • Physical Sciences

The program selects coaches, and promotes academic women inventors with startup technologies to engage the investor and corporate community, build networks, and create a sustainable effort to drive women-founded university startups.

This mentorship and education program culminates in a one-day virtual pitch event on 30 June 2022. Read More.

  • The pitcher must hold an academic appointment (tenured/tenure track/research) and a pending or issued patent or copyright. Postdocs are not eligible to apply.
  • Product concept no more than 4 years from IND or product launch
  • No formal incorporation is required. However, if a startup has been formed, the company should not have raised more than $1M USD.
  • Ability to attend at least one 1-hour Zoom meeting per month January — June 2021
