DEADLINE EXTENSION: IEEE Entrepreneurship UN-MGCY Workshop at G-STIC 2023

IEEE Entrepreneurship UN-MGCY Workshop at G-STIC 2023
11 – 15 February 2023
Location: Rio de Janeiro

IEEE Entrepreneurship, in partnership with the UN Major Group for Children and Youth, IEEE Rio Section, and G-STIC 2023 plans to conduct an entrepreneurship workshop for an enthusiastic, diverse group of STEM students (undergraduate/postgraduate and doctoral) and people in the industry. This IEEE Entrepreneurship Workshop will be held in Rio from 11 – 14 February in conjunction with this year’s G-STIC 2023 event.

The workshop’s goal is to take innovative technology solutions and develop them into business models that address the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Speakers and mentors, who have boots-on-the-ground experience as entrepreneurs, will train the participants.

Approximately 50 participants will caucus, network, and form project teams to develop innovative ideas that meet market needs related to the UN SDGs. The emphasis will be on teams of 4 – 6 people developing the business model and pitching it on the last day of the IEEE Entrepreneurship Workshop.

On 14 February, the judges will provide feedback to each of the teams and select two teams to present at a G-STIC session on the last day, 15 February. The G-STIC audience at that session will then vote for the top team!
