The IEEE Entrepreneurship Impact Award recognizes an individual who has had a significant impact on the engineering-driven entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The accomplishments of the candidate should be of “significant importance” and should have made a distinguishing contribution to the entrepreneurial ecosystem of a country/region.
The person/team will receive an honorarium of US$2000 and a plaque commemorating their achievement.
The IEEE Entrepreneurship Impact Award Committee identifies individuals/teams that are building innovations geared towards benefiting humanity and building a strong inclusive ecosystem.
The IEEE Entrepreneurship Impact Award Committee stated the following when asked why they made their selection. “Every year, the committee goes through a number of applications, looking for the best candidate for the IEEE Entrepreneurship Impact Award, balancing impact, scale, business traction, and entrepreneurial spirit. This year, like previous ones, we received numerous global and diverse applications. The choice was difficult, however, the committee is in alignment and believes in the impact that this year’s recipient has brought to the entrepreneurship, AI, and education fields.”

Marwa Samih Soudi is a dynamic social entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in the EdTech sector. Currently a Doctoral Research Student at Tallinn University, she focuses on Digital Transformation and Responsible AI.
As a co-founder of IdeasGym, Marwa champions innovative educational solutions that blend technology and creativity to engage young learners.
Her academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Digital Transformation, an MA in Educational Technology, and an MSc in Electronics and Communication, all underscoring her deep expertise in merging educational practices with technological advancements. Marwa has received numerous accolades, including the “ICT for Women” award, the Tony Elumelu grant for entrepreneurship in Africa, the Women in Business Innovation Award 2024, which was handed to her by the German first lady in Berlin, and in November 2024, the InspiringFifty Africa Award.
An advocate for women in technology, she co-founded the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group in Egypt and has spoken at various international events. Marwa Samih Soudi is also actively involved in IEEE Standards for AI Procurement (P3119), contributing to the development of ethical AI practices. Her commitment to education, innovation, and social impact positions her as a leading voice in the fields of EdTech and AI.
