BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
A 5-day workshop, organized by IEEE, ICTP and EAIFR, will be conducted at the Makerere University, Uganda. Participants will be introduced to the basics of entrepreneurship – seeking opportunities for innovative technical solutions to the needs of society and taking these ideas to market by developing a viable business model, a sound business plan, and a commercialization strategy.

PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
This workshop is open to young engineers, science graduates (masters and doctoral levels), and young researchers from Uganda who have a high motivation for becoming technical entrepreneurs (technopreneurs). Women candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Selection of candidates will be based on their technical background and also their strong motivation to become entrepreneurs.

PARTICIPATION INFORMATION
The workshop is looking for engineers and scientists with innovative technical solutions that meet the needs of society, have passed the idea stage, and are ready for prototype testing and/or piloting. Participants will be introduced to necessary skills including how to take ideas to market through developing a viable business model, a sound business plan, and a commercialization strategy.
This workshop is open to engineers and scientists who have are highly motivated towards becoming technical entrepreneurs (technopreneurs). Women candidates are particularly encouraged to apply. Selection of participants will be based on technical background as well each individual’s strong motivation to become an entrepreneur.
