IEEE Conference Track @ SWITCH

IEEE curated 6 sessions as part of Day 2 of the SWITCH Conference, under the theme of “Pushing Boundaries: Exploring Tech-Tonic Frontiers”.

The IEEE program will be aired on 08th December, from 0700-1200 SGT, and will feature the following topics & speakers:

  • IEEE Computer Society: Technology Predictions for Times of Pandemics
Predicting the future is never easy, it always entails a degree of uncertainty, if not luck. Predicting technology trends is even harder as it requires both technical and business acumen. In times of pandemics, predicting technology trends carry an even greater weight as it deals with human lives, global economies, and humanity as a whole. Listen to the experts from IEEE Computer Society share their technology predictions for this unprecedented time.
  • IEEE Computer Society: Predictions for 2021 & Beyond
IEEE Computer Society Technologists will cover technologies that will make a difference in 2021, either in terms of adoptions or reaching maturity. We will discuss the problems, demand, opportunities, impact, and sustainable solutions for each technology. We will then compare the predictions in terms of impact, likelihood and our confidence in the predictions.
  • IEEE Roadmaps: Semiconductors in 2030 and Beyond
Semiconductors have been the cornerstone of technological progress in the past few decades, and it only keeps growing. What does the future of semi-conductors look like?
  • IEEE Robotics and Automation in a Post-COVID World
To power through or to pull the plug? The rise of quantum computing has promised us many things, but will it be able to deliver? Where are we at today, and what’s next for the future of quantum computing? Tune in to the session to understand both sides of the story and decide for yourself.
  • IEEE Spectrum: The Quantum Debate
To power through or to pull the plug? The rise of quantum computing has promised us many things, but will it be able to deliver? Where are we at today, and what’s next for the future of quantum computing? Tune in to the session to understand both sides of the story and decide for yourself.
  • IEEE Capstone Fireside Chat: How will technology shape our tomorrow?
The pandemic has brought about many disruptions to our lives. However,  the use and development of technology has been accelerated as a result, to find solutions to the problems we are facing. 2020 has been a pivotal year to the progress of technology, and listen in to find out more about what’s coming next in the world of technology.
