Biography
During his undergraduate education, Can took several positions in IEEE Turkey Section. He started as a member of IEEE ITU then he founded IEEE Computer Society in ITU. After a year, thanks to Computer Society, IEEE ITU’s size doubled by numbers and yearly events. Next year he became elected as an IEEE Turkey Computer Society Representative. In his tenure, Can assisted in the founding of eight new Computer Societies in Turkey. He also began a CS tour and gave Android App Development workshops in six universities. Finally, he was elected as IEEE Turkey Student Representative. During his tenure, he helped thirteen new IEEE University Branches to be founded in Turkey. Can also formed IEEE Turkey’s student organization to be more institutional structure by adding PR and Social Media teams, Social Responsibility Teams, Management Support Teams and other some new programs.
He founded a startup named IoT Türkiye (IoT Turkey) in 2015 to enhance the IoT ecosystem in Turkey by promoting the IoT companies’ works and training more people in the field. Today, the startup has become Turkey’s largest IoT Ecosystem with companies and universities together. The team organizes monthly meetups and Turkey’s only IoT workshop aiming to make people more aware of the IoT world.
