Biography
Dilini Ekanayaka started her involvement with IEEE for 4 years ago. She played a major role in the establishment of an IEEE Student Branch for the Open University of Sri Lanka. She was also the charter Chairperson of the IEEE WIE Affinity Group of The Open University of Sri Lanka.
Dilini is currently the Treasurer of the IEEE SLInspire and an Industrial Committee Member of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka Section. Event management coordinator at the event Let’s talk of IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka. Dilini is also currently employed at Euro-Tech Startups Company as an Internet Researcher and Community Manager of ColomboStartups.com
With her involvement in the IEEE Sri Lanka Section projects, she served as a content writer for the IEEE Sri Lanka Section Students Activities Committee (SAC) 2019/20, a secretary team member of IEEE Technomeetup 2018 and the Secretary of IEEE Innovation Nation Sri Lanka 2019.
Dilini also contributed to IEEE WIE Sri Lanka Section as a Student Volunteer for section events. She was notably the student ambassador of the only PESRES event to happen in Region 10.
Apart from her involvement with IEEE, Dilini Ekanayaka is a final year undergraduate in Electrical Engineering from The Open University of Sri Lanka. She is an enthusiastic researcher in the field of electrical Power Generation. She conducted her research and developed a domestic power generation unit using plastic as fuel. Dilini’s passion lies in contributing to the field of power generation especially in renewable sources of energy.
