Kate Havey
Biography
Kate is a Senior Licensing Manager with Venture Partners at CU Boulder.
With a BS and MS in Materials Science and Engineering, she began her early career as an officer in the US Air Force, conducting research in novel wear-resistant materials at the Air Force Research Laboratory, and eventually as an Assistant Professor at the US Air Force Academy.
After leaving the Air Force, she took a position as the Assistant Director of an NSF Industry/University research consortium, located at Penn State. The management of the research and the resulting intellectual property that was developed, sparked her interest in Tech Transfer, and led to a position as a Licensing Associate at Georgia Tech, and ultimately Venture Partners at CU Boulder, managing a diverse portfolio of science and engineering technologies.
She is a frequent speaker and panelist on intellectual property and licensing technologies for large companies and startups alike.
