Biography
Laine Powell, M.Ed., MSM is the Vice President of Human Resources and Training/Project Manager for AceApplications, LLC., a technology solutions and staffing provider. AceApplications works with businesses, schools, and government agencies, delivering custom software, mobile and web development, cloud applications, IT staffing, IT consulting and technology sales.
Powell is the Founder and Executive Director of Tech Sassy Girlz, a non-profit organization dedicated to changing the lives of underrepresented girls in middle and high school to engage in STEM-related topics and inspire their career interests. Tech Sassy Girlz develops the next generation of STEM-savvy, college-bound girls through college preparation, career readiness and mentoring. Powell created the organization to address the critical shortage of women and minorities being represented in high-tech STEM careers. She firmly believes that leveraging technology is an opportunity for girls to be content creators and makers.
Powell is a strong advocate of education and hard work. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida, a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education and College Student Personnel from the Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Science in Management in Human Resources / Change Management from UCF. She is currently pursuing her doctoral degree in Instructional Technology and Distance Education from Nova Southeastern University.
Powell is married to Mr. Courtney Powell, whom she met in college at the University of Florida.
