Biography

Sergio Fernández de Córdova is a Peruvian-American, internationally recognized entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist working at the intersection of media and leveraging public-private partnerships for social impact.

He is a graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor’s in Sociology. Sergio also completed the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; MIT Enterprise Forum/Inc./Young Entrepreneurs Organization’s The Birthing of Giants® executive program, which is an annual program for 60 hand-picked worldwide business leaders under the age of 40.

He is currently the Chairman and Co-Founder of the PVBLIC Foundation, founded in 2012, which focuses on repurposing millions of dollars’ worth of unused media space around the globe to non-profits each year.

Sergio is an official delegate of the US State Department’s entrepreneurship program and a member of the Global Entrepreneurs Council of the United Nations. He also serves as the Chairman for P3 Smartcity Partners

In 2011, he co-founded IMGH – Infrastructure Media Group Holdings, a holding company focused on global infrastructure, energy, commodities and public-private partnerships which launched P3 Global Management (P3GM) a Public-Private Partnership company, enhancing cities through continuous innovation by Investing in municipal infrastructure.

Sergio co-founded Fuel Outdoor Holdings in 2003, growing the company to over 4,000 outdoor advertising locations in nine markets nationwide, making it one of the top 3 largest, privately-owned companies in the industry. He sold the company to Och-Ziff, a global institutional asset management firm with over $31 billion in capital, and exited in 2011. Och-Ziff successfully sold the company to Van Wagner Communications in November of 2012 which was recently acquired by CBS in 2014.

Beginning at a young age, Sergio has been an initiator of public-private partnerships to drive business and social change. Launching from much of his work at Fuel, Sergio single-handedly forged a variety of private-public partnerships with political and business leaders around the world. As a reflection of his progressive understanding of business and a burgeoning global economy, he is an active investor or advisor in multiple start-ups and emerging market expansions focused on multilateral groups, media, and technology.

He was also on the board of the 2017 IEEE Entrepreneurship Steering Committee.
