Silmija Ferizović Topoljak
Biography
My name is Silmija Ferizović Topoljak. I am from Bihać, city in the west part of beautiful Bosnia i Herzegovina. I have graduated at Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, at University of Bihać.
I’m a person who likes to explore new things, to solve problems, to observe the nature and laws that govern it. I love challenges of any kind and I created a habit of mine to get into them with great desire to overcome them. More characteristics that define me are that I am persistent, curious, communicative and easy to take the initiative.
I love to work with people, and learn from them. What motivates me the most to seek knowledge is my great passion for learning and discovering new areas of science. Currently, I am working with students as a professor. I am also a member of an amazing Bosnia & Herzegovina Futures Foundation Family, which was established in 2015 with a vision to transform the lives of talented youth and break down ethnic barriers in Bosnia and Herzegovina through the power of technology and education.
For generations, my family has been passionate about innovations, from my grandfather through my father, that love for seeking new things came to us, my brother, sister and me.
We are currently working on a new model of vertical wind turbine. With our innovation we have participated in YEP/IEEE Innovation Challenge 2017, where my team members, Harun Ferizović, Samida Ferizović and I have won the first place with our inovation VVSSL – Vertical Wind Turbine With Self-Aligning Wind Redirectors.
