Paper Submissions due April 15

The 2019 IEEE 2nd 5G World Forum (5GWF’19) in Dresden, Germany, seeks contributions on how to nurture and cultivate 5G technologies and applications for the benefit of society. 5G systems should unveil a novel mobile network architecture that not only improves physical data rate, but also creates a new ecosystem allowing the deployment of novel services and applications. A key target is to build a novel network architecture that should support not only classical mobile broadband applications and services but also vertical industry (e.g. Intelligent Transport, Industrial IoTs, eHealth, etc.) and other 5G-based services.

Recently, IEEE Communications Society has developed a strategic framework based on the principles that embrace Industry’s interests and priorities while integrating IEEE and ComSoc’s objectives. In order to engage industry members with high value and innovative technologies, IEEE Communications Society plans to hold a series of high impact one day World Forums in emerging technology areas (e.g., SDN/NFV, 5G, IoT, Big Data, and Cybersecurity).

5G Lab Germany and IEEE are jointly organizing the 3rd IEEE 5G World Forum Dresden on 30 September – 2 October 2019. It will take place at the International Congress Center Dresden located on the scenic banks of the river Elbe. The World Forum builds on the great success of the 2nd IEEE 5G Dresden World Forum in 2017. It will address a holistic approach on 5G system design, ranging from silicon hardware, wireless, networks, edge clouds towards Tactile Internet applications. This one day World Forum offers a platform for industry leaders, innovators, and researchers from the industry and academic community to collaborate and exchange ideas in this emerging technology that may help in driving the standards and rapid deployment. There will also be a startup track hosted at this event. The IEEE 5G World Forum 2018 held a Start-Up Forum meant to actively promote the engagement of start-ups and new businesses in pioneering innovation in 5G.
