Biography

Vasily Grigorovsky will be a judge at N3XT Star Collision in Toronto Canada from 21 May 2019 to 23 May 2019!

Vasily Grigorovsky is a quantitative researcher working towards his PhD at the University of Toronto in the field of neural engineering. His research focus is on using techniques from computational modelling and data analysis to try to elucidate underlying causes and mechanisms of epileptic seizures, as well as to investigating more biologically inspired artificial neural network algorithms.

Previously, Vasily was a co-founder of a startup focused on developing solar umbrella technology to deliver affordable energy to families in Nigeria, which won a People’s Choice Award for the Early Stage Startup at the RBC Prize for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. In addition to that, Vasily led the local Toronto chapter of IEEE Young Professionals with a focus on improving the engagement of recent graduates, which was recognized by the IEEE Appreciation of Service Award.

In addition to his research work, Vasily is working towards his P.Eng designation and has several years of mathematical finance experience, specializing in derivative valuations.
