Biography

Stefano Paraboschi obtained a PhD in Ingegneria Informatica e Automatica in 1994 from Politecnico di Milano. He was an assistant professor (March-1996-October 1998) and then an associate professor (November 1998-October 2002) at Politecnico di Milano. Since November 2002 he is a full professor at the School of Engineering of Università di Bergamo, where he chairs the BSc and MSc program in Ingegneria Informatica. He is the deputy chair of the Dipartimento di Ingegneria Gestionale, dell’Informazione e della Produzione.

The research of Stefano Paraboschi has focused on several areas in the computer science field. He has worked in the database and information system area (specifically on active rules, view management, data warehouses, workflow management systems), Web technologies (data intensive Web sites, XML) and on information security (security for databases, access control for XML and Web services, secure reputation in P2P networks, data outsourcing, privacy). He published more than 150 papers on these topics, with more than 11,000 citations.  His research has been funded by research and industrial projects, at the national and international level.
