IEEE Entrepreneurship at Sections Congress 2017
Allan Tear Presenting at IEEE Sections Congress in Sydney, Australia
On August 11th, IEEE members from around the world gathered in Sydney, Australia for IEEE Sections Congress. Sections Congress is a triennial meeting of grassroots leadership at which attendees network with local geographic leaders, attend training programs and develop recommendations to guide the future of IEEE.
As part of this year’s event, IEEE Entrepreneurship coordinated several sessions to educate attendees on the recent efforts IEEE has made to engage and serve the engineering driven startup community.
A diverse slate of presentations was delivered on a wide range of topics including Entrepreneurship Initiatives in Region 10, Making IEEE Relevant to your Local Entrepreneurs, How IEEE is Making itself Relevant in the Next Startup Wave, Building Technical Communities Through Entrepreneurship Activities in India, and Connecting Startups & Industry: How Sections Can Help.
The roll-out of IEEE’s Entrepreneurship Toolkit was particularly noteworthy. This toolkit is a robust package of IEEE Entrepreneurship programming options which can be added to volunteer-led activities around the globe, including self service & full service options.
The IEEE Entrepreneurship Toolkit can be accessed here. Please email entrepreneurship@ieee.org with any questions.
