UNESCO Co-Sponsored Opportunity for Entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean

Are you interested in commercializing your idea or invention and creating a business? Do you live in Latin America or the Caribbean Islands? Would you like to learn how to become an entrepreneur?

Apply to this entrepreneurship workshop cosponsored by IEEE Entrepreneurship and UNESCO focused on making the world a better place. This workshop is for people working in STEM fields whose projects support the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs).

The workshop will be held at the Hotel El Panama by Grand Faranda in Panama from Sept 12th until Sept 15th 2023. The in-person event will be preceded by two virtual meet-ups in the weeks prior to the workshop to solicit ideas and form teams of approximately five people each.

Once in Panama, participants will learn about topics including the UNSDGs, taking an idea to market, creating a lean business model canvas, traditional and digital marketing, value proposition, finances, intellectual property, contracts and negotiation, leadership soft skills, and more. Guest speakers will include experts on local investment opportunities, local entrepreneurial success stories and more. Participants will also receive mentoring from a team of experienced inventors and entrepreneurs. The teams will develop a pitch deck and compete on the last day for a prize.

Applications are due by July 25th, and accepted participants will be notified by August 1. Participants will receive lodging in double rooms at the venue hotel plus all meals except dinner. Some travel might also be provided depending on individual need and circumstance.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn what it takes to become a successful entrepreneur and make the world a better place!
