John Cyrus

Cyrus is an IT Executive and Senior Level Portfolio Manager at the USPTO. He holds a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Wichita State University and has also specialized in Cybersecurity & Forensics at Harvard University. His 20+ years of professional experience includes leadership roles in IT strategy, Management Consulting, Portfolio Management, and founding a consulting company in Northern Virginia. His career has spanned the private and public sectors across the USA and he has held senior positions in the private, public and non-profit sectors with a proven record of success in the turnaround of large technology operations.

His Current areas of interest include Cybersecurity, Strategic planning for Next Gen systems, & Cloud Migration. Cyrus serves on IT Strategy and budget review boards in the public sector to review business plans and costs and makes recommendations for streamlining operations. He has been a member of the IEEE for 29 years and was elected as a Senior Member of the IEEE.  He is also a member of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).

Cyrus acts as the Vice Chair, Government Relations for the 2018 IEEE Entrepreneurship Steering Committee
