ENTREPRENEURSHIP & ENGINEERS AT THE 17th IEEE Turkey STUDENT & YOUNG PROFESSIONALS CONGRESS

IEEE Turkey Entrepreneurs Network organized a panel, Entrepreneurship & Engineers, with a focus on entrepreneurship, studies, and networks. The panel was made up of three speakers who are experts in their retrospective fields. Each speaker made sure to tie their personal experiences into the conversation.

The three main topics were: entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship in Turkey, and entrepreneurship relating to IEEE subjects. The Q&A session was a major hit. IEEE Speakers H Serhan Suzer & Can Guleren both presented. The panel ended with an IEEE Entrepreneurship presentation by Simay Akar who is an IEEE Member of Geographic Activities & R8 Student Activities Commission, and Assessment Committee Chair for the IEEE Humanitarian Activities Committee.

IEEE Turkey Section met at Balıkesir University for the 17’th IEEE Turkey Student & Young Professionals Congress, which has been occurring since 2001. A total of 310 IEEE members, from 34 different student branches, attended the event. Student representatives and executive committee members of the IEEE Turkey Section presented topics revolving around their studies and plans. IEEE Turkey Section Student Branches were able to attend workshops to determine plans, goals, and values for 2020.

IEEE publishes approximately 30% of all Electrical-Electronics and Computer Engineering publications worldwide. 27% of members consist of students and within 103 ‘, including in Turkey 2669 “IEEE Student Branch” is situated. The IEEE Balıkesir University Student Community, established in 2013, is the most crowded and most active student community of the university with 12 sub-committees and more than 800 members.
