2020 IEEE SB MESCE | Membership Development Session
The Membership Development Session of IEEE SB MESCE was held on 2020 February 6 at MES College of Engineering, Kuttippuram.
The session focused on first-year students and served as an introduction to IEEE and all of the benefits that are available to members. Approximately 400 students attended the event.
Mr. Aravindhan Anbazhagan, Chair of Madras IEEE Young Professionals presented the session in a slide show format, which was held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The neatly laid out slides were able to attract the audience and gear their focus towards the content.
He presented his journey through IEEE including his professional and personal transformation and the achievements he made along the way. The consensus is that Anbazhagan’s speech resulted in motivation and inspiration amongst the young minds in the audience.
The session was interactive and managed to engage the audience, which was evident by the high amount of active and engaged student participation. IEEE Entrepreneurship swag was distributed amid and at the end of the session when Mr. Aravindhan asked the audience questions.

The event was widely appreciated and inspired the students to be a part of an organization like IEEE and explore the opportunities. Afterward, the Membership Drive was held. Approximately 180+ interested students registered and provided their details to the Membership Development Coordinator for further contact regarding procedures, etc.
The students were also given IEEE Magazines and flyers at respective counters set up for different departments wherein the queries of students were also addressed.
Overall the session and drive yielded positive results and had a great impact on the attendees!
